Making Payments

Your Council Tax bill is normally calculated for payments over 10 months.

For your budgeting purposes, it might be more practical to spread these payments over the full calendar year, paying in 12 instalments.

To discuss this, contact Council Tax on 0345 678 9001.

If you don’t pay your Council Tax via direct debit – please ensure you are aware of the date your monthly instalment is due.

Disregards

If you have other occupants living with you in your property, some disregards may apply, which could entitle you to a 25%, or 50% discount. As the bill payer, some disregards may apply to your own circumstances.

Please check here for more information about disregarded person(s) for Council Tax purposes.

 Single Occupancy Discount

If you occupy the property solely, please check your Council Tax bill contains the single occupiers discount of 25%.

If you have a query regarding this, please check the discounts page through the Shropshire Council website for more information.

 Council Tax Support

If you are on a low income, you may qualify for a reduction in your Council Tax through the Council Tax Support scheme.

You can apply online here or please contact Shropshire Council Benefits on how to apply by calling 0345 678 9001.
