We are working through a programme to upgrade all original timber doors to all homes by 2020 and replace them with composite, secure by design doors.

How will I know if my door is going to be replaced?

If your property is due for an external door upgrades you will be contacted by us via letter to explain the process at the beginning of that year.

What happens next?

Our door contractor will contact you and ask you to choose the style and colour of the replacement door (where possible).

Your old door will be measured and be manufactured, when the door is ready you will be contacted to arrange an appointment to fit the door.

If you have a current timber or GRP which is in very poor condition (not lockable, split etc) please contact repairs to report this and an inspection can be done to determine if the door needs more urgent action or remedial repairs are needed.

Frequently asked questions

Can I fit a cat flap in the new door?

No, because the doors are secure by design you will not be able to make any alterations to them. If cat flaps are fitted you will be recharged for the full cost of replacing the door.

How many keys will I get for my new door?

You will be issued with 3 x keys for your new door/doors.

Which doors will be replaced?

We will only upgrade doors leading from the outside directly into a habitable room such as a hallway or kitchen. We will not replace doors leading into outhouses.
