Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their views as part of the tenancy agreement consultation.
Shropshire Council, as your landlord, has now carefully considered all the comments and feedback received during the consultation period. This included feedback shared between 13 October and 9 November 2025, as well as responses received following the Preliminary Notice of Variation issued in February 2026.
What does this mean?
Following the consultation, the new tenancy agreement came into effect on Monday 6 April 2026.
You do not need to do anything. From this date, the new conditions automatically replaced the previous tenancy conditions.
All tenants should have received, or will receive over the next few days, a letter explaining the changes and confirming when the new agreement came into effect.
The tenancy agreement is a legal document between Shropshire Council and you as a tenant. It sets out:
- What Shropshire Council provides as your landlord
- What is expected of tenants
- How STAR manages homes and services on the Council’s behalf
The updated agreement reflects current legislation and guidance and brings everything together in one clear document.
