Managing Asbestos Safely
In most cases, asbestos can be safely managed. If it’s in good condition and unlikely to be disturbed, it doesn’t pose a significant health risk and doesn’t need to be removed.
If removal or remedial work is needed, we’ll arrange this with a licensed contractor. You’ll be notified by letter and given an appointment. You may be asked to vacate certain rooms while work is carried out.

Asbestos Surveys
We carry out asbestos surveys in all the homes we manage, especially before any construction or refurbishment work takes place. This helps us:
What is Asbestos?
Asbestos is a heat-resistant mineral once used in construction and insulation. Its tiny fibres can cause serious lung diseases when inhaled, including cancer and asbestosis. While the new installation of any type of asbestos has been illegal in the UK since 1999, it can still pose a risk in older buildings.
Planning work in your home?
If you’re thinking about making changes to your home, you must request permission first by completing our Property Alteration Request Form. We’ll provide a copy of your asbestos report and offer advice to help you carry out work safely.
