Grounds maintenance

Our Grounds Maintenance Team is managed in-house, allowing us to deliver a more responsive and consistent service across the areas we manage.

What’s included?

Tenants are responsible for cutting the grass in their own garden. We only look after grassed areas that are communal.

  • Please note: We do not remove grass cuttings (arisings) to keep service charges affordable.

We maintain hedges in communal areas and alleyways.

  • Tenants are responsible for hedges within their own gardens.
  • Hedge pruning is paused during bird nesting season.

A qualified arboriculturist surveys trees on communal land every two years.

  • We carry out essential pruning only.
  • We do not remove healthy trees, even if they block light.
  • Tenants are responsible for trees within their private gardens.

Communal Cleaning

We arrange regular cleaning of communal areas such as:

  • Shared staircases
  • Communal entrances
  • Hallways in blocks of flats

This service helps maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all residents. The cost of communal cleaning is recharged to residents through the service charge.

Assisted Garden Scheme

If you’re unable to maintain your garden, you may be eligible for our Assisted Garden Scheme.

We understand that in some cases you may not be able to maintain your own garden. For a weekly charge we offer a garden maintenance scheme for people who are not able to carry out this work.

If you are approved to join the list, we will arrange for our Grounds Maintenance team to:

  • Cut your lawn throughout the year, including removing grass cuttings (minimum of 20mm and max 60mm).
  • Cut your hedge. Carried out once a year outside of bird nesting season.

Please note – grass will not be cut if dog fouling is present.
