Gas Safety

Annual Gas Safety Inspections

We legally have to do a yearly heating safety check in your home. This is carried out by Liberty Gas (they’re Gas Safe registered). When it’s time, you’ll get a letter with how to book an appointment or reschedule.

Letting us in is part of your tenancy. If we can’t get access, your heating might not be safe to use – and we may have to take legal steps to get in.

The engineer will check your gas appliances and give you paperwork to confirm they’re safe.

Think your check’s due but haven’t heard from us? Just get in touch.

If you smell Gas or fumes

  • Call the National Gas Emergency Service immediately on 0800 111 999
  • Do not turn electrical switches on or off
  • Do not smoke or use naked flames
  • Turn off your gas supply at the meter
  • Open windows and doors to ventilate
  • Keep people away from the area

Heating servicing and safety checks

We aim to service all heating appliances every 10 months. This includes:

  • Gas boilers
  • Gas fires
  • Oil boilers
  • Storage heaters
  • Electric boilers
  • Solid fuel back boilers
  • Open fires
  • Air Source Heat Pumps

All heating appliances are checked by qualified engineers from Liberty Gas, our appointed contractor. This service is free of charge. If you have your own heating appliance (such as a gas fire), we’ll include it in the service, but you’ll need to arrange and pay for any repairs if needed.
