Our Policy on Domestic Abuse

At STAR Housing, we do not tolerate domestic abuse in any form. We are committed to supporting survivors and helping people live free from fear, harm, or intimidation.

We fully recognise that domestic abuse affects people of all genders, backgrounds, and circumstances. No matter your situation, you will be treated seriously, sympathetically, and in complete confidence.

Our Commitment

We are proud to support White Ribbon, a campaign that works to end male violence against women and girls. We raise awareness, promote positive behaviour and work with our communities to support this important message

Speak to Our Domestic Abuse Champions

If you need someone to talk to in confidence, you can contact our trained Domestic Abuse Champions. They will listen without judgement and help you find the right support pathway.

You can also call us directly to speak to a Champion or another member of the team: 0333 32 12 200

How STAR Housing Can Support You

While we are not a specialist domestic abuse service, we are here to listen, offer guidance, and help you access the right support.

If you’re experiencing domestic abuse, our commitment includes:

  • Protecting You: Taking urgent action like changing locks, securing properties, or seeking injunctions where needed.
  • Housing Solutions: Supporting you to remain safely in your home or helping you find alternative accommodation.
  • Specialist Referrals: Signposting you immediately to professional support groups and services that specialise in supporting survivors.
  • Accountability: Taking steps to hold perpetrators accountable, including legal action to remove them if appropriate and with the victim’s consent.
  • Respect: Treating you with dignity, without judgement, and considering your cultural, religious, and lifestyle needs.
