To complete the checks we need before formally offering you a tenancy, we require your consent to carry out certain enquiries in line with the Data Protection Act. This helps us confirm your eligibility and make sure we have the information needed to process your application safely and securely.

Information about you and your tenancy is recorded on our internal system; only Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing staff can access this and will only access information about you and your tenancy for relevant purposes.

In order to provide you with the best possible service we may at times, be required to share your information with the both internal and external departments, partners and organisations which include but are not limited to housing providers/private landlords, your mortgage lender (if you own/have owned your own home), the Police, the Probations Service, support workers, social workers, mental health workers and credit reference agencies.
