Welcome to Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing

Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing

On 1 April 2013, Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing Ltd (STAR Housing) took responsibility for the management of all 4200 Shropshire Council owned homes in the Oswestry & Bridgnorth areas. We now provide all housing management services to council tenants, including all work to repair, maintain and improve. This also includes garage tenancies and leaseholders.

We are an Arm’s Length Management Organisation (ALMO), which means that Shropshire Council retains the ownership of the housing stock, controls the allocations policy and retains the homelessness duty but we manage and improve the housing service provided to tenants.

We are managed by a board of directors made up of tenants, independents, council representatives and a staff member.

Snow & Ice Warnings in March 2018

There are warnings for snow and ice this weekend, which may result in an increased number of heating breakdowns and calls to our repairs teams. Here are some tips on how you can help yourselves and us.

Need help keeping warm?

With more cold weather forecast this weekend it may be worth finding out if you could be eligible for a Cold Weather Payment – and there’s still time to apply (just).

Be part of the Great British Spring Clean

Friday (2 March 2018) marked the start of the Great British Spring Clean, a national campaign with a simple aim: to bring people across the country together to clear up the litter that blights our towns, villages, countryside and beaches.
