Tender opportunity - Grounds Maintenance

Contract Description

Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing (STAR) is an Arms-Length Management Organisation (ALMO) responsible for the management of Shropshire Council’s 4000 housing stock.
This Request to Participate (RTP) Notice is for the grounds maintenance of Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing’s stock. The agreement includes work for the grounds maintenance of open spaces, communal gardens, individual green service, and other similar locations. The locations are in two areas of Shropshire and are divided in to two separate lots: Oswestry and Bridgnorth (follow this link to view) which can be applied for separately or together:
The tasks include but not limited to the following:

  • Maintenance of amenity grassed areas
  • Garden service
  • Maintenance of housing access paths
  • Maintenance of shrub beds
  • Leaf clearance
  • Maintenance of hedges
  • Weed control
  • Maintenance of trees
  • Clearance of fly-tipped waste
  • Sweeping
  • Collect and dispose waste of site after grass cutting, tree / hedge trimming and sweeping
  • Winter maintenance
  • Clearance of vandalism and damage
  • Removal of abandoned vehicles
  • Removal of animal carcasses
  • Additional works subject to discussion
PROCUREMENT PROCESS

This is a two-stage tender process. This Notice along with the return of fully completed Request to Participate questionnaire forms the first stage of response. The top 5 highest scoring applicants who pass all pass/fail requirements will be successful and be subsequently invited to tender as part of the second stage of the tender process (a joint scoring 5th place will result in all 5th placed applicants progressing to the next tendering stage). Unsuccessful applicants will be informed and may seek feedback from STAR. The following timetable is indicative and gives approximate dates for each stage of the tender process and is in line with the minimum periods defined by OJEU procurement rules:

3. Tender Return Date 16/10/2017
4. Tender Evaluation (including stand still period) 02/11/2017
5. Contract Award 03/11/2017

The response to the RTP Questionnaire must include all evidence requested.
