Exciting times as Hignett Place nears completion

Excitement is growing as our largest new build development site is close to completion.

Hignett Place, which will consist of 19 new affordable homes, is nearing completion and in doing so, will provide much needed affordable housing in Oswestry.

Part of our affordable new build development scheme, Hignett Place comprises of 15 three-bedroomed and 4 two-bedroomed high-quality homes - one of which has been specially designed in conjunction with Transhouse, a local registered charity providing living opportunities for people with physical disabilities.

The new homes, which meet the Homes and Community Agencies Housing Quality Indicators, offer a mix of affordable rent and shared ownership properties available for purchase.

Hignett Place will replace the demolished Swan Lane and redevelop this once troubled estate, as part of our commitment to create and maintain vibrant communities.

Sue Adams, Managing Director of Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing, said:

“Whilst we are committed to providing high quality, new build homes that are affordable, we also take great pride in the communities we work with.  We want future generations to feel safe and be proud of where they live.

Hignett Place being so close to completion is really exciting and we’re looking forward to welcoming new tenants to what will be a great place to live.”

Jason O’Donoghue, Development Manager at Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing, said:

“The new build homes are nearly finished now and are looking great.

We have a mix of affordable rent and shared ownership properties available for purchase which provide a fantastic opportunity for people to be able to get a foot on the housing ladder and access brand new homes.”
